Hi there 👋

This month we’re sharing updates that will make it easier to manage and communicate with candidates, including custom “thank you” pages, calendar invite statuses, and more.

Applications: Request cover letters and customize “Thank You” pages

If your application asks for a cover letter, you can now add it from the Job builder in just one click. The cover letter can be required or optional, and if your team uses anonymized hiring, it will be redacted just like a résumé.

Then, when a candidate submits their application, you can customize the “thank you” page to communicate next steps in a clear, on-brand way. Contact support to learn more if you do not have access to the careers page editor.

Referrals: Notify users of new jobs open to referrals

When creating a new referral job, you can automatically notify Pinpoint users of the opportunity to increase your reach. This is a valuable talent pool to take advantage of: Across 4.5 million applications on Pinpoint, we found that referrals are 7x more likely to be hired than candidates applying via job boards.

Interviews: See candidate invite status

Never leave an interviewer waiting again. Add the status of an invite to the interview toolkit so your team knows if the candidate has confirmed or not. If a candidate has not replied, you can remind them via email or SMS. If they need to reschedule, you can use the interview scheduler, minimizing back-and-forth emailing.

Candidates: Block applicants and manage data retention

Minimize clutter in your system and help your team to consistently provide hiring managers with viable candidates. You can now give certain Pinpoint users the ability to block, delete, and merge candidates. From the candidate point of view, they will not know if they are blocked—they will submit an application as usual but it will not enter the system.

You can also designate separate data retention periods for hired and non-applicants. Keep necessary data related to employees on file, while still following relevant data policies.

Languages: German translation updates

For companies that are hiring in Germany, you now have the option to choose between formal or informal translations depending on your brand guidelines. For formal translations, select “German (Deutsch – Sie),” and for informal translations, select “German (Deutsch).”

Offers: Move across jobs

When moving a candidate to a new job, any prior offers will move with them, so your team can keep track of their agreement history. With our updated candidate profiles, you can see all applications, CVs, scorecards, tags, comments, and messages related to an individual across all jobs.

Reports: Edit column names in custom reports

Create reports that anyone on your team can use. Edit the column names in custom reports to fit your internal terminology or to map onto other systems.

Onboarding: Proactively schedule emails and specify answer formats in workflows

Set your team up for success from the moment they say “yes.” You can now schedule emails to be sent before a new hire receives their onboarding invite. Complete your tasks in advance, so new hires have everything they need for day one.

In onboarding workflows, designate required answer formats for certain fields (bank numbers, post codes, phone numbers, email addresses, etc.) to ensure you receive consistent data that can be shared across systems.

Integrations: HiBob Expansion

For teams that use HiBob, previously you could send certain fields from Pinpoint to Hibob. Now you can send much more from Pinpoint, including all candidate information, offer details, and downloads. You can even send information after onboarding, including a candidate’s onboarding form answers. A more seamless setup, in just a few steps. Learn more here.

A monthly tip from Pinpoint power users...

Give interviewers all the information they need at their fingertips. When interviewers click the interview link from their calendar invite, they will find all relevant candidate information, including resume, scorecard with interview questions, application details, and answers to application questions. Learn more about Interviews here.

Goodbye

And that’s it for this month. We’d love you to get in touch if there’s anything we can help with, or if you have feedback on this latest product update.
