Make multilingual hiring simple

Candidates can search, apply, and communicate in their own language, while your team stays in control behind the scenes.

Your careers site detects each visitor’s browser language and switches automatically. Candidates can also choose their preferred language at any time, so they land on content they can understand from the start.

Multilingual candidate experience FAQs

A multilingual candidate experience means candidates can find your jobs, complete applications, and receive communications in their own language, rather than being required to interact in English throughout the hiring process. In Pinpoint, this covers every candidate-facing touchpoint: careers site, job descriptions, application forms, pre-screening questions, emails, SMS, interview scheduling, and offers. It means candidates in Spain, Mexico, France, Germany, Wales, and more get the same quality experience as candidates in the US or the UK.

Pinpoint supports a wide range of languages for the candidate-facing experience, including Spanish, French, German, Welsh, Arabic, and more. The full list is available in your account settings. If the language you need isn't currently on the list, contact your customer success manager.

No. Pinpoint pre-translates the platform's standard fields and labels, such as application form headings, employment types, and default email templates. For your own content, including job descriptions, email templates, careers site copy, and pre-screening questions, you'll need to provide the translations. Once you've saved an English version of a job, a language dropdown appears on the edit page so you can add each additional language version.

When a candidate visits your careers site, Pinpoint reads their browser language setting and automatically displays the site in that language, if it's enabled in your account. If the language can't be determined or isn't one you've set up, the site defaults to English. Candidates can also manually switch to any enabled language by selecting it at the bottom of any page on your careers site.

Yes. If you've set up a job description in multiple languages and a candidate's browser is set to French, for example, they'll see the French version of the job and complete the application in French. Application responses are stored in the language the candidate submitted them in. They're not automatically translated in Pinpoint.

In Pinpoint, multilingual covers: your careers site, job descriptions, application forms, pre-screening questions, candidate emails, SMS templates, interview instructions, equality monitoring surveys, and candidate surveys. The internal recruiter-facing interface is available only in English. Multilingual support applies exclusively to the candidate-facing side of the platform.

Once you've enabled languages in your Company Profile, a language dropdown appears in your templates. For Pinpoint's default system templates, translations are already provided. For custom templates, you add the translated version by selecting the language in the dropdown and editing the copy.

Language barriers in the hiring process disproportionately affect candidates who speak English as a second language, even when they're fully qualified for the role. Offering a multilingual candidate experience removes a structural barrier to application and helps you attract talent from a broader, more diverse pool. For many organizations, particularly those in retail, manufacturing, healthcare, and hospitality, reaching Spanish-speaking or non-native-English-speaking candidates is critical to building the workforce they need.

No. Any organization hiring people whose first language isn't English can benefit. In the US, Spanish is the most spoken non-English language, and for businesses in retail, construction, healthcare, or hospitality that rely heavily on Spanish-speaking workers, a multilingual hiring process is practical and important, not a global enterprise feature. Pinpoint includes multilingual capability for all customers.

Contact your customer success manager. If the language you need isn't in your account settings, we can add it within two weeks. All costs associated with adding a new language are covered by Pinpoint. There's no extra contract, no additional fee, and no minimum commitment.

Yes. If you run multiple brands from a single Pinpoint account, you can configure multilingual settings across all of them. Each brand's careers site can support multiple languages, and job descriptions, email templates, and application forms can all be managed per brand and per language within one account.

When candidates encounter a hiring process in a language they're not fully comfortable in, they're more likely to abandon it partway through. This is especially common during long application forms, complex pre-screening questions, and multi-step processes. A multilingual candidate experience removes that friction at each step, so more candidates who start the process actually complete it. The result is a larger, more qualified applicant pool and less wasted sourcing effort.
